The Xeno from Otto Bock.

Xeno

Having a Say at Eye Level

Wheelchair users too wish to speak personally with friends and relatives at eye level. The stand-up function of the new Xeno electric wheelchair provides the facilities that make this readily possible in everyday situations. Additionally, the Xeno provides an innovative single-servo-steering S³ feature. Two seat widths and 16 seat depths can be combined to provide an optimum individual configuration. The back rest and seat tilt are easy to adjust using the joystick.

From operating a cash dispenser to writing on the blackboard at school – the stand-up function presents a significant plus for mobility and independence without outside assistance. In addition to the many practical advantages offered by the ability to switch between the sitting and standing positions at work and at play, there are also important medical effects. Standing up several times a day promotes circulation, joint functions, and digestion and therefore helps prevent complications. The back part meets all biomechanical requirements, reduces shear forces and thus supports physiological “hip over knee” standing. With a width of 42 centimetres, the footrest facilitates a health-promoting position for the user’s feet.

The smooth movement out of the sitting position into the physiologically important straightening of the entire body in 20 seconds promotes circulation and thus has positive effects on the joints. The belt and pad systems support the driver and make driving and standing safely, even both at the same time. The stand-up function on a rear-drive unit is optimal for weight distribution and prevents tipping over forwards. Due to the lack of wheel-fork trailing, safety while driving is also increased in narrow areas such as an elevator. The dimensions and range of the Xeno make it equally suitable for indoor and outdoor operation. The new single-servo-steering S³ feature with its single forced-steering function provides the highest level of manoeuvrability in narrow spaces and ensures outstanding driving characteristics. The enAble50 drive control together with the LC display make it possible to use all alternative special control systems as well as infrared environmental control.

When the Xeno is being transported in an automobile, the standard fastening eyelets also prove to be very practical. The wheelchair also has a battery drawer, which makes servicing easy. Trunk-support pads and headrest systems are available as optional extras.

The Kiwi from Otto Bock.

Kiwi

Lets Children’s Eyes Light Up

With its filigree structure, Kiwi proves that a rehabilitation product can meet all the day-to-day requirements of children with slight to moderate handicaps, while at the same time it looks just as smart as a mainstream sports buggy.

The base frame provides an extremely lightweight yet very stable drive base which can easily fold into a handy package in just a few simple steps. The push bar is easy to adapt for any attendant – without the use of tools. The seat and back angle adjustments are just as user-friendly.

The seat itself is slightly trough-shaped, giving it a nest-like feel where a child can feel snug and secure.
